Provenance

The Meteoritical Bulletin records the main mass of Northwest Africa 18497 with Brian McDonald. Identification of this 443.52 g complete stone as that main mass comes from Treasure Coast Meteorite Co. records. The Bulletin writeup states the meteorite was purchased in 2024 from an Algerian dealer, and the entry records the workname BMD 038 with submission by Jose Garcia. A 20 g type specimen is held at MUNA and one thin section at ADARA. The 725 g recorded mass covers the meteorite as a whole across many pieces and is not the weight of this stone.
