Provenance

Northwest Africa 17706 was found in December 2024 in Algeria and purchased in Tindouf from Taguati Abdelhamid. It was classified by J. Garcia at ADARA and published in the Meteoritical Bulletin, MB 114, under the work name BMD 011. The Meteoritical Bulletin records the main mass as held by Brian McDonald of Treasure Coast Meteorite Co., IMCA Member #3323, who submitted the material for classification. This 45.40 gram complete individual is one of the eight rocks recorded in the Bulletin entry, and was offered as a classified specimen.
