Guemar 002 was found on 10 February 2023 by desert nomads at El-Alia in Touggurt Province, Algeria. Four gray oriented individual stones totalling 195.61 grams were recovered together, all retaining fresh fusion crust. The stones passed through several dealers in Africa and were purchased as a lot by Jared Collins on 19 September 2024. The meteorite was classified by V. Mugica, D. Sheikh and M. Hutson at the Cascadia Meteorite Laboratory, Portland State University, and published in the Meteoritical Bulletin, MB 114. The Bulletin records this 45.92 gram stone as held by Brian McDonald of Treasure Coast Meteorite Co., IMCA Member #3323. It is offered as a classified specimen.
