Provenance
Northwest Africa 17296 was purchased in June 2023 from a meteorite dealer in Morocco as a single desert varnished stone with patches of fusion crust. It was classified by Jose Garcia at ADARA under the work name MBD 24-01 and published in the Meteoritical Bulletin, MB 114. The Meteoritical Bulletin records the remaining mass as held by Brian McDonald of Treasure Coast Meteorite Co., IMCA Member #3323. This 1472.00 gram complete individual is that remaining mass, the total known weight of 1495 grams less the type specimen material held at MUNA and ADARA, and is offered as a classified specimen.
