Provenance
Northwest Africa 17919 was found in 2024 in the Tindouf region of Algeria and purchased from a meteorite dealer. It was classified by J. Garcia at ADARA under the work name BMD 020 and published in the Meteoritical Bulletin, MB 114. The Bulletin records the classification as H6 S3 W1, determined from metal content, chondrule diameter and magnetic susceptibility, and notes that classifications made by magnetic susceptibility after Rochette et al. (2003, 2012) carry larger than normal uncertainty. The Meteoritical Bulletin records the remaining mass as held by Brian McDonald of Treasure Coast Meteorite Co., IMCA Member #3323. This 488.00 gram individual is that remaining mass and is offered as a classified specimen.
